Alexandra Resort Providenciales

Alexandra Resort Providenciales

Why We Recommend It:

Right in the middle of the sublime Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (voted the best beach in the Caribbean on numerous occasions), Alexandra Resort has a tremendous location.

It is a relaxed, easygoing, mid-range resort that offers excellent value compared to most around the notoriously expensive Grace Bay Beach area.

You have five very good restaurants and four bars, and guests can take a shuttle bus to sample the restaurants at their more upscale sister resort Blue Haven.

There is a small spa and gym area and a whole host of activities to be enjoyed all-inclusive: Hobiecat sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, cycling, tennis, etc.

You can also arrange motorized water sports, scuba diving, sailing trips, and all sorts of tours and excursions for an extra fee.

If you want to get some shopping in, you’re just steps away from one of the island’s main commercial & tourist strips: Grace Bay Road.

Guests are a mixed bunch: couples, families, and groups of friends of all ages, and the atmosphere is lively and friendly.

Rooms & Suites:

Alexandra Resort has a nice range of spacious studios, one and two-bedroom suites plus, the cream of the crop, their stunning 3800 sq ft. four-bedroom penthouse.

The studios come with kitchenettes but the suites feature full kitchens with washing machines.

Suites also have large living rooms with dining tables and satellite TV in both the lounge and the bedrooms.

All have nice furnished balconies or terraces. Some have direct ocean views but most have views of the gardens with a partial view of the ocean to the side.

The bathrooms are large and come with separate showers and bathtubs or, in the case of the studios, shower/bath combos. Extra bathrooms in the two and four-bedroom suites are smaller and have showers only.

The decor is rather unexciting but overall the accommodation is comfortable, spacious and well-appointed.

Food, Facilities & Things to Do:

You have five all-inclusive food venues at Alexandra Resort: Asú is their main international buffet restaurant by the central pool with an outdoor section. It is a chic venue with a relatively informal atmosphere and a very nice bar.

Solé has al fresco a la carte dining on a beach deck with wide open views over Grace Bay, while the Pizzaluka Pizza Bar does quality pizza as well as paninis and other snacks.

The Fish Deck is down at the beach and does a range of a la carte fresh seafood dishes while Jerky’s is a traditional Jerk hut with jerk chicken and other Caribbean favorites.

Guests can, as mentioned above, also jump on the frequent shuttles to sample the restaurants and bars at the sister resort Blue Haven, ten minutes away.

Though Alexandra is the larger, busier resort, Blue Haven’s two restaurants: Fire & Ice, and Salt, are among the best on the island.

Bars at Alexandra include a swim-up pool bar, the Rumba Beach Bar, the Coconut Bar, and a non-alcoholic juice and smoothie bar.

Loungers and umbrellas are provided for guests at the gorgeous Grace Bay Beach and they can order food and drink to be brought to them.

Non-motorized water-sports equipment like kayaks, snorkeling gear, paddle-boards, and Hobie cats for example are all-inclusive but motorized sports have an extra fee, as is fairly standard.

There are two tennis courts at Alexandra plus a small but well-equipped gym and a spa and beauty center with two treatment rooms, one for singles and one for couples.

There have a meeting room at the resort overlooking the sea. Free bicycles are provided for guests and though there is no kid’s club their nearby sister resort Blue Haven has one that Alexandra guests can access via the frequent resort shuttle.

Some Guest Reviews:

“I loved everything about this property. Everything was close and convenient and the employees were exceptional! Bobo, Keisha, Slick, Miracle, Forty, Therena, Barbie are a few we can remember, they were phenomenal and made our stay very nice! Very lucky to have these employees….”

“Alexandra was a beautiful resort with the perfect location in Provo. 10 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes into town and many excursion boats pick you up right in front of their beach. The water and beach is impeccably clean as well here. Nightly entertainment is also a perk. Their DJ and hosts had the guests dancing all night!….”
