It is a classy place with a lovely secluded location, very private accommodation, particularly good food and drink, and friendly staff who really go out of their way to help.
The clientele at Bungalows Key Largo is mainly, though not exclusively, couples.
The accommodation is entirely in the form of private bungalows. All of them are broadly similar, spanning nearly 1000 square feet, their airy interiors come with either a large double bed and a sofa bed or two large double beds and very plush bathrooms.
The private outside space is nicely crafted, and you may find yourself spending more of your time there where you’ll find seating and lounging furniture, a soaking tub and an outdoor shower.
Other little niceties at the bungalows include 60 inch Smart TVs, Coffee makers, mini bar, fridge, microwave, work desk and 24 hour room service. They also have complimentary bicycles parked outside for guests to go exploring with.
(Note: There is a 3 night minimum stay at Bungalows Key Largo)
Food, Facilities & Things to Do:
The resort has its own stretch of private beach plus two outdoor swimming pools and jacuzzis, four great restaurants, a fitness center and a full service spa.
Their Zen Spa offers luxurious treatments in what they refer to as the Zen Garden. Asian themed, it has five outdoor treatment cabanas, waterfront treatment tiki, a Himalayan salt room, a steam room and various spaces for just relaxation and meditation. There are also daily yoga sessions on the beach.
Water-sports can be enjoyed at the resort with all non-motorized sports such as kayaking and paddle boarding being complimentary.
The food and drink here is nothing short of excellent and all inclusive with the exception of a few premium wines and Bogie & Bacall, their showpiece steak restaurant where guests are just allowed one complimentary reservation per four night stay.
Beyond that it costs $300 per two-person reservation. The dress code there is formal.
Their open air Fish Tales restaurant does, as you may imagine, seafood but also a nice selection of Mediterranean/Italian – pasta and pizzas etc.
Sea Señor – the clue is in the name – puts Mexican into the mix with local Florida seafood to great effect.
You have three main bars here, the beautifully old Keys style, Hemingway Bar, a thatched roof beach bar called Sunset Tiki, and a cosy laid back lounge called The Living Room. These bars also have casual dining menus.
Right between the city of Miami and the busy South Florida Keys, visitors will find Key Largo a much more laid back and personable place to be. And the Bungalows Key Largo Resort has very much the same vibe.
You nearest airport is of course Miami International, 50 miles to the north.
Some Guest Reviews:
“From the moment we checked in with our Tiki punches and the beautiful turquoise gates opened, we were transported to another place!! The gorgeous grounds, friendly staff, and private bungalows made us immediately feel like we were on a Caribbean Island without the airplane flights. It was truly a honeymooner’s paradise!!….”
“Wow, oh wow! This was the most fantastic week myself, my mother, and my grandmother have ever had. The food: superb. The amenities: amazing. The facilities: beautiful. The on-sight staff: far exceeds typical service.
Even before we arrived at the Bungalows, the staff was incredibly helpful with scheduling dinners and other activities to enjoy across the resort. We were constantly amazed by the beautiful surroundings and pleasant interactions. Countless people went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
I have to give some special shout-outs to some workers at the Bungalows that consistently went above and beyond for us. Steve, Jay, William, and Nevado!!!! We can’t thank them enough for spoiling us throughout the stay. We cannot wait to go back!…..”
