Sandals Grenada

Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa is an adults-only (& couples-only – as with all Sandals), 5 Star luxury all-inclusive less than a five-minute drive from Grenada (Maurice Bishop) International Airport.

It lies on a 17-acre estate beside the scenic (though small, it must be said) Pink Gin Beach. It has 10 restaurants and bars, five pools, spa facilities, and a whole host of water and land-based activities.

The service is consistently good, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly, and though it is generally a romantic getaway for couples the bars can get pretty lively.

Rooms & Suites:

There are 225 rooms & suites in total here, within a wide range of categories and price ranges, and set over four different sections: Pink Gin Village, South Seas Village, Italian Village, and Lover’s Lagoon Hideaway.

These sections, though stylistically somewhat different, are broadly similar and so there probably won’t be any important reason to prefer one ‘village’ over the other.

Most of the top-level suites are to be found in the Italian Village and South Seas Village, though the Pink Gin Village is closer to the beach.

Internally all rooms are classy, luxurious, and beautifully furnished and fitted. Some come with spacious living areas, terraces with soaking tubs, spa bathrooms, private, infinity edge plunge pools, stunning views, and 24-hour butler service.

Take a look at all your options on the Sandals’ own website here.

The top suites may not be within everyone’s budget of course, but even the most basic of rooms at Sandals Grenada will make you feel pampered.

Pick of the bunch though at Sandals Grenada we think are their ‘Italian Oceanview Skypool Butler Suite with Balcony & Tranquility Soaking Tub,’

These are plush one-bedroom apartments with sweeping sea views and private infinity plunge pools, accessible both from the balcony and the bedroom.

The living area offers a comfortable sofa, dining table for four, study desk, balcony with sun loungers, smart TV, and wet bar with top brand liquors.

Their bathrooms are opulent and stylish, clad in Carrera marble and ivory patika travertine stone, they come with Kohler claw foot bathtubs and luxury, Sandals Red Lane, toiletries.

Food, Facilities & Things to Do:

During the day when not doing one of the many activities on offer couples will usually be found lounging by the two main pools, one of which has a swim-up bar and is generally a lively place to hang out.

Others will be down on the beach, swimming, playing volleyball, or snoozing in hammocks under the palms. The sea at Pink Gin is rather rough though and so swimmers are obliged to keep within the cordoned-off section.

Come the evenings many tend to gravitate towards The Living Room, the large lounge and bar area in the central courtyard, which has pool tables, board games, and live entertainment every night: live music, talent shows, comedy shows, etc., etc.

There are five other bars at the resort, six in total, including an English pub. All alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are complimentary with the exception of certain select premium wines which can be purchased separately.

So apart from that you can enjoy an unlimited supply of premium spirits, cocktails, beers, and their house wines, Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks Californian.

All inclusives and gourmet food may not often go hand in hand but again you have to hand it to the Sandals company for getting it right again and again, and Sandals Grenada is no different–the food is terrific.

You have a choice of ten eateries at the resort with a broad choice of International, Caribbean, Japanese, French, and Italian.

They vary in terms of formality with the most stylish place being Butch’s Chophouse, an upmarket steak restaurant.

Both buffet and a la carte are on offer with no limits or restrictions in any of the venues. Breakfast is a tremendous feast here, and you can also enjoy some delectable fresh pastries with your coffee at Cafe Paris.

Among the land-based activities here are tennis, beach and pool volleyball, bocce ball, and shuffleboard. And of course, guests have full access to their Sandals Red Lane Spa facilities, and their gym and fitness center.

Unlike the vast majority of Caribbean all-inclusives Sandals Grenada offers all non-motorized and motorized water-sports as complimentary.

So not only things like kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and scuba diving, but also wakeboarding, water skiing and tubing for example, and more. Free instruction is also provided for newbies.

Lastly, we can mention that for stays of three nights or more Sandals Grenada can grant guests a complimentary private resort wedding.

Resort Location:

Sandals Grenada lies in the southwest of the Island, very near the airport and right on Pink Gin Beach. Transfers to and from the airport, included in the rate, usually take no more than five minutes.

Some Guest Reviews:

“My stay at Sandals Grenada was an amazing one. The hospitality given by each staff/faculty member my best friend and I came in contact with was unmatched. From front desk personnel and event coordinators to drivers, bartenders, and even housekeeping; everyone was very polite, professional, and welcoming. They did whatever they could to make our stay a stress-free one. The site was aesthetically pleasing and had an overall relaxing feel. The food was terrific, especially since some all-inclusive restaurants’ can be hit or miss. As a carnival reveler, I give special thanks to the event coordinators and drivers (Abdiel, Quaver, Marvin, Emily, Jason and Ted) who helped us enjoy Spice Mas to the fullest! Despite many issues regarding our carnival costume (which had nothing to do with Sandals), the mentioned staff, in particular, made sure we had an exceptional time. The options to partake in Jouvert and Monday Night Mas through the hotel was a highlight our stay —providing a convenient and safe way to enjoy the carnival festivities. Our stay at Sandals served an integral part in our successful Grenada Carnival experience…..”

“The resort was wonderful, the staff always went the extra mile to make you feel happy. The cleanliness was perfect, the food was very tasty and of high quality, a lot of variety as well.
The bedrooms were really nice, cozy and had a wonderful mattress. The water sports are on a league of their own. Not only it boasted fantastic choices of sports available at any time without queues or hassle, but the staff was the most amazing I have ever seen. Again, the whole staff and the manager didn’t measure efforts to make us feel happy, thank you so much! Keep the good work!….”
