Sandals Montego Bay

Sandals Montego Bay

Why We Recommend This Resort:

The very first Sandals, Sandals Montego Bay, is still among the most well-known and popular all-inclusives in Montego Bay and in Jamaica.

Its 26-acre estate sits by a long, lovely stretch of beach just minutes from Sangster International Airport and is a busy, lively place with a typically Sandals range of 5-star facilities including nine quality restaurants, a spa center, six pools, three whirlpools, and numerous sports facilities.

How Are the Rooms & Suites?

The 272 rooms and suites are divided into 27 categories, from basic entry-level rooms to some very lovely swim-up butler-serviced suites. They are all modern style, bright and sleek with the exception of the Caribbean category rooms, which are more old colonial style.

Most have four-poster king-size beds and all, as is typical with Sandals, have very nice marble bathrooms with bathtubs and showers.

All but the entry-level rooms also come with a whirlpool on the terrace or balcony.

Club-level rooms grant access to the Club Sandals private lounge plus extra perks such as a dedicated concierge and round-trip private BMW airport transfers from Sangster or Norman Manley Airports.

The Butler Elite shares the same perks but with a private butler and 24-hour in-room dining menus.

What’s the Food Like at Sandals Montego Bay?

There are nine restaurants at Sandals Montego Bay. The main one, Bayside, does the enormous buffet breakfasts and lunches then goes for a la carte French menu for dinner. You have food from all around the world here: Asian, Italian, Mexican Jamaican, and Caribbean are all represented and the food quality is consistently very high.

Two need reservations and are semi-formal: the Jamaican eatery Oleander, and the Italian Cucina Romana.

What Things Are There to do at Sandals Montego Bay?

There are four fun bars at Sandals Montego Bay, including a swim-up bar, a chic piano bar, and an English-style pub, The Cricketer’s Pint. There is live daily and nightly entertainment around the resort – theme parties, talent shows, live music, etc.

Guests at this resort can also access, via free shuttle, the restaurants and bars at the Sandals Inn and Sandals Royal Caribbean resorts.

Water sports that are available all-inclusive include such as waterskiing, snorkeling, sailing, paddle-boarding, and scuba diving, and on land – tennis, croquet, beach volleyball, and billiards.

There is a well-equipped fitness center that runs daily free fitness classes. Red Lane Spa provides a full range of treatments too but for an extra fee, though the saunas and steam rooms are free to use.

The resort can arrange transfers to and from the airport which has direct flights to most major cities in the U.S. and Canada.

Some Guest Reviews:

“Amazing – highly recommended. The resort was amazing, being a larger property there was plenty of room. We had a lovely quiet spot on the beach well away from the hubbub at the pool (which was also fun occasionally). Service was great and the food amazing. Full credit to the reception staff, bell boys and gardeners….”

“We LOVED our week here! Staff are INCREDIBLE! Everyone is in love and happy. The food is great. The drinks are great. The tours are so much fun and well organized. The entertainment is brilliant. Would recommend to ANYONE for an incredibly fun honeymoon/ anniversary/ birthday etc…..”
